What did they say?

I love watching BBC tv shows. Eastenders is a great soap opera,
Monarch of the Glen is wonderful, tho the series is coming to an end.
There's
My Hero which is a hilarious comedy, and speaking of comedies, there is the sci-fi classic favorite RED DWARF!! Older classics include Are You Being Served , Father Ted , and Keeping Up Appearances.

HOWEVER, while watching British TV or spending any time in the UK, you'll hear many-a-word that is not common to our American tongue. They have some pretty cool words of their own!! Check this site out, and learn a few ... impress your friends ... they wont know what you're saying, you'll have your own secret code, and best of all, it's in "English"!

Comments:
"Are You Being Served?" was a favorite of mine for a long time during the 1990's (when it was airing on PBS at a time I seemed able to tune in.) But "Father Ted" sounds like great fun. I don't have the BBC channel in my cable lineup unfortunately. :(

Let's see if I can comment here and not have it appear twice. Wicked blog karma today.. Anywho, what I wanted to say is

"Who you calling a ned?! You plonker!"

Melonie - saw that you like catholic history, if you like the british sense of humor (sorry, "humour"), you'd love Father Ted ... he's a parrish priest on a remote irish island, along with a naive idiotic priest, and a drunk 'should-be-retired' priest. Was HUGE in the UK, the short duration it was filmed.

hi u2-lorax I keep getting this image of you dressed up like Bono with the big shades, walking out on stage with a white flag and shouting "I speak for the trees!" by the way, I love U2 and The Lorax. ;)

yes elims, I think I would very much enjoy Father Ted. British humor is a big fave of mine, and Irish Catholic element and those priests sound absolutely lovely. I'm going to have to see about finding some DVDs.

Melonie - LOVE the Bono/Lorax image!! Incorporated it into my newest blog entry. Thanks for sharing :)

Umm Howdy Ellie Mae. Geez haven't called you That in Ages! Wow. Memmmoorrriiieeesss..... ;)

Oh. My. Word. MOW! Cant believe you remembered the Ellie Mae. Argh!
