BLEEP!!!!!

Anyone ever do this, or am I the only one?

You find out at the last minute that company is coming over or something... especially someone who has never been over to your house... so you panic and stick your dirty dishes in the oven. Great hiding place, right?

VERY BAD HABIT! VERY BAD IDEA!

This is now the THIRD TIME in my short (*cough* 34 years) life that I've forgotten above-mentioned dishes... turned the oven on to preheat... sat down to watch the news, gotten distracted, not cared when the 'oven is preheated' alarm beeps ... 30 minutes later ...

Freakin' Heck. (ok, it was more like "F^CK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!")

Someone just take away my "Unalienable Right to Cook", please!!

Comments:
I trust the dishes you put in there were not still nicely coated with Fettucini Alfredo. Whew, not a nice odor.

At least they were dishes and not something more delicate :-)

I've hidden them, but in the dishwasher silly, not the oven. Then, when you forget about them for a while, at least you don't bake on whatever it was. Since I rarely use my dishwasher, it's occassionally been a while before I've found them... Always nice to find a surprise like that. Hope yours came clean and didn't smell TOO atrocious. --KyraAnne

Geez.. that's almost as bad as boiling eggs.... ;)

Meli - well, there was an empty can of catfood on the cookie sheet ... I cant tell what the substance was that USED to be in the bowls, but it peeled right out ... the handle to a pizza cutter is now melted in to an interesting shape ...

Gordy - I dont think I've PUT anything more delicate in the oven. *ponder*

KyraAnne - you know me better than that .. when am I actually LOGICAL? Logical is for GROWNUPS!!! EWWWW!

U2- Yeah, ALMOST as bad. It actually didnt smell as bad as the burnt hard-boiled eggs. The many, MANY burnt ... hard boiled eggs.
