Hide me, I was recognized!!

Ack! I was RECOGNIZED! *cower* In the grocery store. Tonite. Someone recognized me. Eep!

I'd gone out to dinner with some
odd person who has an unnatural attraction to U2 and Dr.Seuss; we went out for Italian and had garlic, with some white pizza and bread 'knots' thrown in. Always fun, always yummy. d;)

Afterwards, I stopped by the grocery store to pick up some meds for the dog (Willow). Walking in, a man said an enthusiastic "Hello!" I didnt recognize him, but hey, this is North Carolina and people are friendly here so I said "Uh.. hi!". His wife came in and said "Hey! Hi! How are you? Fancy seeing you here!" They were both so pleased to see me! I racked my brain to try and identify these people. Best I could come up with, was they were in one of my obedience classes. I did recognize her ... but couldnt place her name, or which dog she belonged to, or even if it was one of my current classes, or one of my old classes. I made quick small talk... "Yeah, funny time to go to the grocery store, huh?" (It was 9:30pm or so). Anyway, after exchanging pleasantries, I ran in, got what I needed, and left.

Oh, wait. She did catch me pondering rice. I was looking at the long and wild rice selections when she caught up with me. She suggested the microwavable packet that you just pop in for 90 seconds, no muss - no fuss. I thanked her profusely for the suggestion and explained my current fear of the stove.

But it just blew my mind that in a random place at a random time, someone would recognize me. That kinda makes me feel more a part of the "community" ... more at home.

Comments:
I've been thinking about it, and I think they may have owned the pitbull from my last set of classes (Each round of classes lasts 7 weeks). I had a migraine for two of those classes, so they're fuzzy. *grin*

There is Nothing unnatural about my love of most everything involving U2 and Dr. Seuss! Totally healthy ..affection on my part. Okay with U2 it's closer to obsession but still, nothing wrong or odd about it! *grin*

Kinda funny that you were recognized by 'strangers' that night! Mayhap your telling me about being recognized by another 'stranger' in the Newark airport some years ago, triggered it.

The chance meeting of strangers who aren't strangers but who just recognize you before you do them.
