Rose Happy
Ok, I've become rose-obsessed. I've planted 6 rose bushes, and I still have more sitting up by the house yet to plant. I've planted ... in this order ... Tiffany (pink), Christian Dior (red), Blue Girl (mauve/lavendar), Tropicana (coral/orange), Peace (white/yellow/pink), Sunny Delite (lemony-yellow). I've got Charisma (a yellow/red) and two knock-out (red and pale pink) shrub roses left to plant. And then various other perennials I picked up on a whim. Setting me loose in a Nursery/plant store when I havent slept is a BAAAAAAD idea. I did some shopping last week during my 80 hour work week. *blush*
The boyfriend does landscaping as a hobby, but he hasnt touched my yard yet ... I havent really asked him to, either. *grin* It's his passion ... it's what he'd do for a living if he could. It's something we have in common ... wanting to play in the yard. He lives about 45 mins away, so most of the yards he works on ... friends and family and actual work ... are up that way. For a living, he works for the Dept of Transportation, testing soils in the lab.
Now that I segued in to the boyfriend, the dogs love him. Especially Riley, the collie. That's Riley's Daddy. Riley makes ooey gooey lovey eyes at him, and follows him around, and all but ignores me unless I give him a stern command ... it really does amuse me. Even Willow, the pickiest of them all, quickly took to him. She doesnt generally trust men or children, or most strangers. I've had friends and family over for days at a time, and she's never warmed up to them. Bailey will always be a Momma's Boy. Cinder, the cat, has yet to voice her true opinion.
The phrase "diamond in the rough" really fits this now 'not-so-new guy' ... (since we've been dating for 7.5 months). He's different than pretty much anyone else I've dated. I'm very happy, tho.

Awwww Riley has a daddy. It's good that Will likes him too. Since she's the noisiest objectioner you have. Well, until Cinder starts talking.
Hey you think you could get Riley's dad to record the message on your cell phone or home phone? So's I can hear his voice? ;) I guess tho maybe that might freak some people out. I remember how peeps reacted to My cell voicemail message *grin*
It doesn't look like I'll get to meet him when I'm down that way next week. Since you're working nights now. Speaking of which, I need to figure out when is good for you to have me appearing on your doorstep.
And if flowers are still in need of planting, I'll help!! I haven't gotten to play in dirt (that's not in a pot or container) in ages!

*cough* Yeah ... I remember MY reaction to your cell phone message ... thinking that you were getting attacked or robbed or something ... I was nearly ran my car off of I-40. Then when I figured out what was going on, I couldnt see the road for laughing and the tears in my eyes.
I'll find something for you to plant. I'm starting a perennial bed, and want another one ... I just have to dig up some grass to do the second one.
